Hampton Court
Hampton Court is famous for its palace built originally for Cardinal Wolesey, but what is now one of only two surviving palaces out of the many owned by Henry VIII. The palace’s Home Park is the site of the annual Hampton Court Flower Shop and the palace itself home to the Hampton Court Music Festival. It is one of the most popular tourist sites in the country.
There are a few local pubs and restaurants, but most of the local activity takes place just across the river in East Molesey where the local railway station – Hampton Court Station – is located. This part of East Molesey has many antique shops and in Bridge Road and is unusual nowadays in having both an independent butchers shop and a fishmonger.
